Lush. Lively. Elegant. Pantone Color Of The Year - Emerald

Well if you don't have emerald green in your wardrobe, it's time to head to the stores and add some. Pantone announced the 2013 color of the year... drum roll please... emerald!
This color is said to be "Lively. Radiant. Lush... A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance, and harmony."

This can be a tough color to wear, well for me anyways.  I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of green, but I'll be shopping the racks to add this color to my closest. Whether you choose a piece of apparel or decide to go with an accessory, emerald is a must for 2013.
Tip: Gold accessories are the perfect match for something green.

Closing Night of StyleWeek Northeast

Last night was filled with fashion and style, runway looks that would turn your head.  This past week was StyleWeek Northeast - hosted at the elegant Providence Biltmore - night after night of cutting edge fashion heading down the runway.  I was lucky enough to attend last night (Saturday) for the closing show, featuring three talented designers - Nick Pini, Yellow Clover, and the anticipated Jonathan Joseph Peters, a famous face from Project Runway.  For any fashionista, attending this event is a night of gawking at new trends and shopping through the accessory showcase - I picked up two new bracelets!  One from Calico, and the other from D. Designs

Check out some of my pictures from the night.  Does this look like something you'd like to attend?  The show will be back in the summer so keep an eye out!

I'm not a huge fan of green, but if the color looked good on me I'd wear this for St. Pattys day!

I LOVE this look! I might have just found my new website obsession - Polyvore!  You pick from a million different options and create outfits, check it out!  After todays gorgeous weather hitting 70 degrees in Providence, I'm dying to pull out my white pants.  The first thing I chose for this look is the beautiful blue shirt.  The bow on this shirt needs to be the focal point while everything else is just the finishing touches.
More to come, I'm obsessed!

Little Black Blazer

What's on tap for tomorrow?
I want to wear something a little dressier than today, nothing crazy. During my trip to Marshalls over the weekend I picked up a long blue t-shirt.  Such a steal - clearance for $12.00!  The fabric is really smooth so it looks nice under a sweater or blazer. Tomorrow I'm wearing it under a short cotton black blazer. One of the reasons why I chose a short blazer is because I want to show the back of the shirt. It has a great gathered spine, and because its on the longer side it will show at the bottom of the blazer. The sleeves on the blazer are cinched and cut off just past the elbow. Its a very versatile piece, you can really dress it up or down for the occasion.

For the bottom half I'm going with curvy blank dress pants and my favorite pair of ankle boots.  I'm obsessed with wedges, so I had to get these when I saw them.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE heels but wedges take the cake for comfort!  This pair is Lucky Brand, one of my favorite shoe labels!  The wedge is the perfect height for straight leg pants to show off the boot and works perfectly for bootcut or flares that fall over the toe.

For accessories I chose a chunky silver necklace that falls to my stomach.  Because the shirt is so long, a longer necklace is the way to go!  With the black blazer and darker blue shirt, I chose a shiny silver to stand out.  For a bracelet, I'm wearing a wide chunky silver cuff style.

Style Tip: Make sure your wardrobe has items that are versatile!  Things like this short black blazer are perfect for the office and a night out!

What to wear tomorrow...

I'm gonna try and turn over a new leaf... Pick out my outfits the night before. Well I'm going to give it a shot, we'll see how long I can keep up with it!  Tomorrow is a no meeting day for me so I wanted to wear something cute but comfortable.  I'll be spending a lot of time sittin' in my chair and punching the keyboard.

I chose a top that's ruffley around the top and had a lot of color. The design reminds me of the days when I used to be obsessed with Spirograph, come on, you know you were too!
To cover my shoulders I chose a very pale pink sweater that has a drape front. These types of sweaters are a staple in my wardrobe, I have one in pretty much every color.
For pants I'm wearing a skinny black corduroy with my favorite brown mid-calf boots.
For jewelry I'm sticking to a simple shiny silver necklace but chunky gold watch and bangles - who said you can't wear gold and silver together?  I do!
I think this outfit will be perfect for my day tomorrow, comfortable but still appropriate!

Take away: Get yourself a few sweaters that you can throw over your cute summer tops! Let's you get more out of your wardrobe!

First pair of summer shorts!

Sunday funday for me includes shopping, relaxing, and more shopping! I woke up this morning and headed to my nana's for breakfast - french toast, eggs and bacon. She's turning 90 any day now and still cooks for an army.  Her grocery receipt totals close to $200 every 2 weeks, oh and did I mention she lives on her own.  She's your picture perfect Italian grandmother, remember the mother on Everybody Loves Raymond? That is her!

My college roomie and I then stopped at my favorite store on the way home - Marshalls, of course! -jam packed with new stuff, spring is here! Like always I tried on 15 things and left with 2 - only buy what you love!

First up...
My first pair of summer shorts! I saw them and just couldn't resist - faded cheetah print! I can picture them now with a white oversized T and a long simple necklace. For shoes, some type of strappy sandal, nothing high. Oh summer days, you can't come soon enough!

That's all for now, more to come on my shopping trip tomorrow! (I might have made a second trip to a different Marshalls later in the day too - obsessed)

Great weekend with my roomie, missed/already miss her so much. Hold on to the ones that matter the most!
FYI, I am not a spokesperson for Marshalls, I am simply just in love with the store!

Over the knee boots and grape crush martinis

Last night was a lot of fun, my best friend from college graced me with her presence! Nothing crazy, we went to dinner and then drinks at a martini bar, last stop, good ol' Fat Belly's where a few others met up with us. Awesome band, the perfect songs to tap your foot and sing along with ha! Martini's of the night were expresso, sour patch kid, tiramisu, and grape crush. Let's just say the boyfriend and bf crushed the grape crush!
My look last night was my boots - distressed over the knee, I'm obsessed with them! I picked them up last year at the end of the season at Marshalls on clearance - they were a steal! The rest of my look was in the same color scheme and I added a necklace for a pop of color! That's another one of my great finds from the hidden gem in Providence, $6.00!
Key: pick your piece and go with it!
Great look for a great night, now it's time for slug Sunday!

A Splash of Color!

TGIF! I woke up this morning and wanted to wear something I could possibly wear out tonight. So I pulled a satin skirt that's full of color from my closet - bright, bold, and fun! I love this skirt, it looks like an artist painting.  I picked it out at one of my favorite Seaside, NJ shops during a summer beach week!  It's a great piece in my wardrobe because its work in the winter with boots and summer with sandals! With such a vibrant skirt I knew I didn't want to go bold with my other pieces, the skirt had to be the focal point! For my feet i threw on distressed brown riding boots, just under my knee.

Although my necklace is subtle its a pretty cool piece. You literally just scrunch it up to into a ball and it turns into a masterpiece. Same necklace but different every time you wear it

Key to this look: pick a splash of color and accent it - don't compete with it!

Just the right touch

Some mornings the alarm clock just comes too soon. Whether its a morning you're rushing around or just want to pull your hair back, headbands are my secret. Today I wore one with crystals and delicate gold wiring. I had on a white ruffley blouse, a light necklace, and a chunky gold watch and bangles. It was the perfect touch!
I get a lot of my headbands from Ann Taylor Loft - on sale of course! I always check out the containers near the registers, always great deals!

My Favorite Accessory - right now

When I'm getting ready for work every morning the last step is always what accessories?? This necklace finds itself around my neck almost everyday. Its not like I don't have other options. I mean I've literally started using my jewelry for wall decorations. Anyways, I wanted to share it with you! It's a brushed gold color nothing really shinny and gets the job done every time! It's not too heavy or too simple and perfectly accents pretty much anything!

I found my piece at a secret spot in Providence! Did I mention it was $7.00? I love it even more.

Stay tuned for my reveal of this hidden gem in providence!

Here's my first Jezzy post!

Today I was inspired!  Always live in the now, not yesterday or tomorrow.

I am obsessed with my new wrap watch!  My boyfriend, Chris, surprised me with it for Valentines!  I love it (him too) because its the silicon style but has its own look being thinner and a wrap.  The blacks great because it goes with everything and the bling is just the right size!  I wear this watch to work and out at night, works for all occasions.  If blacks not your thing they come in all different colors and styles!

I have to tell you that Chris works for Speidel, but that doesn't change how much I love it! Even better - Speidel is a local business based right out of Cranston, RI!

If you are as in love with this watch as I am, check out their site and see if you find a watch that matches your style,
